Washington Seminar dates are set. The gathering in meeting will be Sunday, February 8, with hill visits on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, February 9, 10 and 11. NFBI will try to do the Thursday breakfast with our senators.

The 2009 Youth Slam will be held July 26 - August 1, 2009 in College Park, Maryland. More information, along with an application, are available at www.blindscience.org. The application and flyer are also available for download below.

Support the National Federation of The Blind of Illinois by purchasing gift certificates from over 50 grocery, restaurant, retail and specialty shops. The certificates are purchased from the vendor at a discounted price and you purchase them at the normal price. The difference goes to NFBI. These make wonderful Christmas, birthday and just because gifts.

The Blackhawk Chapter
If you need a ride to the Chapter meeting, call Bob or Nancy Gardner at 755-8085 and we will make arrangements. Please let us know your need by Thursday night so we can coordinate cars and drivers.

The National Federation of the Blind of Illinois, Ferris Wheel Chapter, generally meets the first Saturday of each month (except July) beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the first floor meeting room of the Jacksonville Public Library, 201 West College Ave. The public is welcome to attend.
