You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
The National Federation of the Blind of IL knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams.
Since 1968, the National Federation of the Blind of IL has been helping members live the lives they want! We know that the real problem concerning blindness is not blindness itself but the lack of knowledge, understanding, and opportunity. Get involved in the NFB of IL, the largest organization of the blind in the nation and in the state, and help us live the lives we want!

Convention Registration & Voting Enrollment Reminder
Our state convention is on October 30, 31 and November 1. The affiliate and our student division will have elections on the morning of November 1. According to the constitutions, only dues paying members, who are present can vote in affiliate and chapter/division elections. So please register for the convention by October 16 by going to nfbofillinois.org/convention/registration.
Further, since we are having a virtual convention, you will need to register the number you plan to vote from by October 9. Please register the number you will be voting from at http://www.nfbvote.org by October 9. You will be asked to put in your first name, last name, phone number from which you are voting and the affiliate convention. This system is familiar to all of us as we used it during our national convention.
Remember, your vote will only be counted if you vote from the number you entered at http://www.nfbvote.org.
On November 1, you can vote by calling and putting in your choice or you can text your choice to the number. Once everyone who wants to vote has entered their information by October 9, I will provide you with the number to call for voting purposes. You will have plenty of opportunity to write it down or put it in your phones. Please help members you know who do not have a computer register to vote and register for convention.
It would be very helpful if everyone could register to vote and register for convention long before the deadlines.
